Policies
Vaccinations
We have strict policies regarding vaccinations and will not accept any pets are that are not current. Proof of vaccinations is required.
Webster Pets, LLC requires all dogs be vaccinated for: Rabies, Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvo, Lepto, Parainfluenza, and Bordetella.
Although not required, we highly recommend to vaccinate your pet for lyme disease and canine influenza.
Rabies
A serious, fatal viral infection that affects a dog’s central nervous system. It’s usually transmitted through the bite of an infected animal but can also be spread when an infected animal’s saliva comes in contact with broken skin (through licking, drooling, etc.). Rabies vaccinations are required in South Dakota.
Distemper
A very contagious, often fatal virus that affects a dog’s respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems. The virus spreads through the air and vaccination is the only way to effectively prevent or control it.
Hepatitis/Adenovirus
A disease caused by a virus that affects the liver and cells lining the blood vessels. It can cause a high fever, swelling, and uncontrolled bleeding.
Parainfluenza
A very contagious disease that attacks the respiratory system. It is spread through contact with infected dogs or through the air.
Parvovirus
A very contagious viral infection that affects a dog’s gastrointestinal tract and immune system and can cause sudden death. It’s spread by contact with the infected poop of other dogs, contaminated environments or objects, or even people with the virus on them. This infection can be life-threatening in puppies.
Bordetella
This bacteria causes what’s commonly known as “kennel cough” and affects the respiratory system of a dog. It is spread in places where there are many dogs in contact with each other, like kennels, grooming facilities, and dog shows. Puppies are at the highest risk, but adult dogs can get sick too.
Leptospirosis
A disease that can cause permanent kidney damage. It spreads through contact with nasal secretions, urine, or saliva of infected animals. Rats, mice, squirrels, and other rodents are common carriers of the bacteria.
Canine Influenza
Canine influenza (also known as dog flu) is a contagious respiratory disease caused by specific viruses known to infect dogs. There is now a single vaccine to prevent both the H3N2 and H3N8 strains of the virus. The vaccination series requires a booster shot two weeks after the initial vaccination. Vaccines take 3-4 weeks to provide immunity.
Lyme disease
A tick-borne disease that causes inflammation of the joints and can cause lameness. Some dogs may also develop kidney problems.
Cancellations
As I am sure you are well aware, kennel space is a hot commodity in our area. Due to a recent incline in no-shows, we have decided to create a cancellation policy. We understand things come up and life happens, that is okay, we get it. But to provide the best service to our community, we will now require cancellation notice. A simple text message or call is all it takes.
Standard Boarding: Non-holiday boarding cancellations require a 24-hour notice. Failure to provide notice will result in a $25 cancellation fee.
Holiday Boarding: Holiday boarding cancellations require a 72-hour notice. Failure to provide notice will result in a cancellation fee of 50% of your total reservation. Holidays are our busiest times and we try our best to accommodate as many guests as possible.
Thank you for your understanding!

Reactive/Aggressive Dogs
We are a family owned and managed business. To protect the safety of our other guests and our family, we will no longer allow reactive/aggressive dogs.
Meet & Greet: We offer a free meet & greet consultation for every potential guest. This not only allows you to meet us and see our property, but for us to also interact with your pet. During this meet & greet, if we feel we won't be a good fit, we will let you know.
If a meet & greet is not scheduled, and your pet starts showing aggressive/reactive type behaviors, we will contact you to pick up your pet immediately. No refunds will be provided.
What is a 'reactive' dog? It might sound like silly question, but how are you supposed to know if your dog is aggressive or reactive? Fear, frustration, and excitement can create a a reactive behavior. Think about when you take your dog for a walk, if you pass another dog or person, how does your dog react? Has your pet been around other dogs? Children? People? If you are unsure, please give us a call and schedule a meet & greet. These meet & greets are free!
